Agreement Signed for Establishing Multifunctional Polymers and Biomaterials

On November 15, EVP Li Guangxian and Prof. Luigi Ambrosio, Director of Department of Chemical Science and Materials Technology, National Research Council of Italy signed an cooperation agreement to establish Multifunctional Polymers and Biomaterials Research Center (The MPBRC ) at the 4th China-Italy Innovation Forum in Beijing.
The MPBRC is the result of a strategic alliance between Sichuan University and Department of Chemical Science and Materials Technology of the National Research Council of Italy to foster the economic development of both countries through the improvement of the fundamental and applied research knowledge, the strengthening of the current research links, the creation of a world-class research achievements and researchers in the fields of multifunctional polymers, composites and biomaterials. 
The MPBRC will be directed by Prof. Li Guangxian and Prof. Luigi Ambrosio together and Academician Zhang Xingdong and Prof. Luigi Nicolais, President of the National Research Council of Italy will serve as its honorary directors.

The Center will conduct a series of research activities including jointly research works to deepen the understanding of basic and technical fundamentals and establish new processing technologies, sharing research achievements as well as research resources and facilities, promoting exchange of academic and researcher staff and PhD students and Master students and preparation and submission of international joint projects from European framework program, state government as well as from industry. Besides, the Center will organize seminars, conferences and subjected-specific international forums mainly focused on the advanced border-line of the research and implement joint proof-of-concept projects to accelerate mutual technology transfer.
